PB 2027: Paving the way forward for PMOS
Why PMOS, and why now?
Regardless of your profession, Doctor, Physiotherapist, Dietician, Exercise Physiologist, Acupuncturist, Psychologist, Strength and conditioning coach, women managing the symptoms of PMOS are in our clinics, and they need all of us to play our role to ensure they get wholistic care.
The complexity is right there in the name. PCOS is now PMOS, polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome, because it was never only about the ovaries. It affects hormones, metabolism, mental health, the pelvic floor, fertility and long-term health across a woman’s whole life. The new name reflects the multi system impact, and our approach to managing it must do the same.
What the day covers:
-
The foundations: How a healthy endocrine system works, what PMOS is, why the name changed, who gets it, how it’s diagnosed, and the genetic and environmental risk factors.
-
The hormonal picture: The hormonal profile of PMOS and the body systems it affects.
-
Across the lifespan: PMOS in adolescent and elite athletes, fertility, the postpartum period, and perimenopause and menopause.
-
Management that works: The roles of nutrition, exercise and medical treatment, how PMOS affects mental health, and why the pelvic floor is involved.
-
The future: Earlier diagnosis, whole-person treatment and prevention.
Throughout the day we’ll also hear from women with lived experience. Designed to keep reminding us, why we are gathered, who we are trying to help and the powerful change we can make.
Pre-conference breakfast
Join us for a small pre-conference breakfast before the main program. It’s an informal chance to ask questions and talk with a few of our speakers. Places are strictly limited.
Who should attend
PMOS doesn’t belong to any one discipline, so its management can’t either. This day is for you if you’re a:
Physiotherapist · GP · Endocrinologist · Dietitian · Exercise physiologist · Psychologist · Naturopath · TCM practitioner · Strength and Conditioning Coach . Any practitioner working with women who wants a deeper understanding of PMOS.
Together we can achieve more.
Speakers to be announced soon. Tickets on sale soon.
